Ng Man Sun, a renowned former Macau junket figure and controlling shareholder of Hong Kong-listed gaming investor Century Entertainment International Holdings, has stepped down as the Chairman and CEO and relinquished his role as a director, the company announced Friday.
It did not reveal any reason for his sudden departure, other than citing “other personal commitments”.
Executive Director Tang Ho Ka, 65, has been named as Century Entertainment’s new Chairman and CEO effective 31 May 2025. Tang, it added, has over 40 years of financial and management experience and is currently engaged in the business of processing and trading of camellia tea seeds, production of camellia oil, brand operations, and domestic and overseas sales of camellia oil and related products.
Ng’s departure from day-to-day-operations comes after the company finally commenced operations of a new VIP gaming table business in Cambodia’s Dara Sakor in December, some four years after Ng decided to cease operations at its former base in Sihanoukville due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ng had provided significant financial assistance to the company throughout the pandemic and while it waited for approval to resume VIP gaming table operations.
Century Entertainment was formerly known as Amax International Holdings, which under Ng’s watch – and thanks to his connections to Dr Stanley Ho – was a significant player in Macau’s junket industry. Amax also held a near-25% stake in the Greek Mythology casino which it wrote-off as an asset in 2019, some four years after Macau’s DICJ ordered its closure.
