IAG announces categories for 2025 IAG Academy Awards at Manila’s Newport World Resorts on 9 September

Leading B2B gaming and integrated resort industry media and events brand Inside Asian Gaming is pleased to announce the award categories for the 2025 IAG Academy IR Awards, to be held in the Manila Ballroom at Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport World Resorts on the evening of Tuesday 9 September.

The IAG Academy IR Awards form part of the IAG EXPO at Manila’s Newport World Resorts from 8 to 10 September 2025, which also comprises the IAG Exhibition, the two-day IAG Academy Summit and networking social Manila After Dark.

A public call for candidates for the IAG Academy IR Awards will open from Monday 2 June, with Official Nominees to be announced on Monday 11 August. Official Nominees will then have 16 days to submit their supporting documentation.

Anyone interested in being part of the Judging Panel for the 2025 IAG Academy IR Awards should read the eligibility criteria at iagacad.com/ir-awards-judges and if eligible contact panel chairman Andrew W Scott at ceo@asgam.com.

The IAG Academy IR Awards – first held in 2021 – will comprise 23 award categories in 2025, one more than last year. These awards, which celebrate outstanding industry offerings and participants, are separated into four divisions: Non-gaming Operator Offerings, Gaming Offerings, Corporate and Industry.

There are also three Hall of Fame awards, which celebrate outstanding individuals operating in the industry.

The award categories are:

DIVISION 1: NON-GAMING OPERATOR OFFERINGS
Elements of Asia-Pacific based Integrated Resorts other than gaming.

1. Best Visual Appeal of an IR
2. Best IR Resort Attraction
3. Best Overall Retail Offering by an IR
4. Best Overall F&B Offering by an IR
5. Best Hotel in an IR

Nicholas Ionides, Senior Vice President, Communications & Corporate Affairs at Marina Bay Sands, accepts the award for Best IR Resort Attraction from IAG’s Scott Messinger at the 2024 IAG Academy IR Awards. Marina Bay Sands won the award for its SkyPark Observation Deck.


DIVISION 2: GAMING OFFERINGS

Gaming elements of Asia-Pacific based Integrated Resorts.

8. Best Table Game Solution
9. Best System Solution
10. Best Sports Betting Solution in an IR
11. Best Poker Room in an IR
12. Best IR Membership Program
13. Best IR Gaming Floor

Lloyd Robson, General Manager – APAC at Aristocrat Gaming, accepts the award for Best Slot Solution from IAG’s Andrew W Scott at the 2024 IAG Academy IR Awards. Aristocrat won the award for Dragon Link.


DIVISION 3: CORPORATE AWARDS (OPEN TO OPERATORS AND SUPPLIERS)

Elements that relate to overall governance and activities of companies that operate Asia-Pacific based Integrated Resort businesses, and those that supply them.

17. Best Workplace
18. Best Overall Marketing Program

Ken Jolly, Managing Director, Asia for Light & Wonder, accepts on behalf of his company the award for Best Workplace from Newport World Resorts’ John Lucas at the 2024 IAG Academy IR Awards.

Elements relating to the wider industry of and serving Integrated Resorts in the Asia-Pacific region.

Deputy Director of Operations Andy Lee accepts the award on behalf of Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) for Best Integrated Resort from PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco at the 2024 IAG Academy IR Awards. GEG won the award for Galaxy Macau.

The IAG Academy IR Awards is an in-person, high quality, black tie gala event, celebrating the land-based gaming industry only. Organizer Inside Asian Gaming is an Asian born and bred company with a 20-year history and an in-depth knowledge of the people and companies who have made the industry what it is today.

The public call for candidates closes strictly at midnight Manila time at the end of Friday 25 July 2025, with official nominees to be announced on Monday 11 August 2025. A select committee of the Judging Panel will choose the official nominees for each award category from amongst the candidates received during the public call for candidates period.
