SJM Resorts Chief Operating Officer Ben Toh will retire from his full-time role from next week, although he will continue for a time in a consulting role, Inside Asian Gaming has learned.
The news was shared with staff this week via an internal memo, which said that Toh plans to pursue personal priorities and new chapters in his life.
The memo also revealed that SJM won’t seek a like-for-like replacement for the COO role and will instead undergo an organizational restructure that will include the appointment of a Chief Hospitality Officer, reporting directly to SJM’s Managing Director, Daisy Ho.
Toh, who previously spent nine years in various financial roles with Sands China, joined SJM in 2020 – first as Chief Operating Officer (Finance and Development) in 2020 then as Chief Financial Officer from early 2021. He was appointed COO in December 2023.
