Macau visitor arrivals up 12.8% year-on-year to 3.07 million in March

Macau welcomed a total of 3,068,920 visitor arrivals in March, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%.

According to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), mainland Chinese tourists made up the majority of arrivals in March, with 2,164,089 arrivals, a year-on-year increase of 21.1%. This was followed by Hong Kong tourists with 595,216 arrivals, down 10.2% year-on-year.

The number of foreign arrivals recorded in March was 233,583, up 12% year-on-year. Korea led the way with 47,266 arrivals, up 27.3% year-on-year, followed by the Philippines with 39,213 arrivals, down 3.6% year-on-year.

Among the visitor arrivals in March, 1,780,279 were same-day visitors while 1,288,641 were overnight visitors, representing increases of 23.3% and 0.9% respectively. The average length of stay of visitors decreased by 0.1 days to 1.1 days compared with the same period last year.

In the first quarter of 2025, visitor arrivals totaled 9,862,665, an increase of 11.1% year-on-year. Analysed by source, visitor arrivals from mainland China increased by 14.5% year-on-year to 7,206,035 in the first quarter, while visitor arrivals from Hong Kong decreased by 3.6% to 1,753,042.
