Genting’s Las Vegas integrated resort, Resorts World Las Vegas, has announced the appointment of Jennifer Roberts as Chief Compliance Officer, tasked with overseeing the property’s compliance function, including regulatory compliance, registration and licensing, AML, responsible gaming and technical compliance.
Her appointment, the latest in a raft of new additions as part of a comprehensive management overhaul, comes after RWLV agreed to pay US$10.5 million to settle a complaint related to its alleged failure to comply with state anti-money laundering laws.
“On behalf of the entire leadership team, I am pleased to welcome Jennifer to Resorts World,” said RWLV CEO Alex Dixon. “Her deep expertise in gaming law and understanding of the casino regulatory environment makes her uniquely positioned to continue our efforts to build and sustain a robust, world-class compliance program. Integrity, commitment and ethics are critical components of the culture at Resorts World Las Vegas and Jennifer will play a key role in further strengthening our compliance program, ensuring it is appropriately designed, resourced, tested and empowered to promote a culture of compliance.”
Roberts, the founder of her own gaming law firm, Roberts Gaming Law Ltd. is described as a seasoned compliance leader with more than 20 years of legal experience.
She most recently served as Vice President and General Counsel at WynnBET, where she oversaw compliance operations and developed reporting systems across multiple jurisdictions. Prior to that, she was Director of Sports Gaming Regulation for the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation and held roles as Associate Director and interim Executive Director of the International Center for Gaming Regulation at University of Nevada Las Vegas where she developed and implemented a comprehensive curriculum to educate regulators and industry professionals on casino compliance and advised stakeholders on regulatory frameworks.
As Chief Compliance Officer, Roberts will lead the Resorts World Las Vegas compliance organization, spearheading the design, development and implementation of programs and policies, RWLV said. She will also help identify and manage compliance risks, conduct operational assessments and ensure continuous testing and monitoring to maintain the highest standards in an evolving regulatory environment.
“I am thrilled to join this stellar team of professionals and help drive the continued development of a best-in-class compliance program here at Resorts World Las Vegas,” Roberts said. “I want to thank the leadership team for this opportunity and look forward to working closely with them as we build on the significant progress already made.”
