Bloomberry Resorts Chairman and CEO Enrique Razon Jr has purchased a development in South Africa that includes a hotel and one of the nation’s top-10 ranked golf courses,
According to a report by Bloomberg, a subsidiary of Razon’s Crescentspring Holdings Inc has taken over Pearl Valley Investments Ltd, PV Hotel Development Ltd (PV Hotel) and Pearl Valley Hotel Ltd, whose assets include the Pearl Valley Jack Nicklaus signature golf course and Pearl Valley hotel within the Cape Winelands region.
The existing hotel boasts 80 rooms while there are plans to develop a boutique 32-hotel on the property, as per a notice from the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition.
The previous owner’s shareholders included South African businessman and Olympic swimming gold medalist Ryk Neethling, the report explained.
Razon, ranks No.2 on the Forbes Philippines’ Rich List with an estimated fortune of US$11.1 billion.
His International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) is the Philippines’ largest ports operator by revenue with subsidiaries in the Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Africa and the Americas, while Bloomberry Resorts Corp operates the Philippines’ leading casino resort Solaire Resort Entertainment City as well as the recently opened Solaire Resort North.
