Former Crown Resorts and Mindil Beach Casino Resort executive Sean Knights will take over as Chief Operating Officer of the Philippines’ Universal Hotels and Resorts Inc, operator of Cebu’s NUSTAR Resort and Casino, from today, IAG has learned.
Knights replaces Alan Teo in the role, who was last week revealed to be the new CEO of Hoiana operator Hoi An South Development Ltd (HASD) in Vietnam. Teo had spent almost two-and-a-half years with NUSTAR.
Knights is no stranger to the industry, bringing with him 25 years of experience including most recently as General Manager of Darwin’s Mindil Beach Casino Resort, owned by US-based Delaware North.
He was previously Executive General Manager – Gaming at Crown Sydney and served as Executive General Manager – Table Games, Crown Melbourne following stints with The Star Sydney, The Ville in Townsville and at Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa.
Opened in May 2022, NUSTAR is currently Cebu’s only integrated resort, offering around 150 gaming tables and 1,000 EGMs, a retail mall, bars and restaurants plus 600 hotel rooms across two hotels.
