MGM China has launched Macau’s first “Distinctive Smart Bus Shelter” – a one-of-a-kind contemporary design featuring smart features such as digital screens displaying real-time bus arrivals, weather updates and civil protection messages, located outside the company’s flagship integrated resort MGM Cotai.

Designed in partnership with JCDecaux (Macau) Limited, the shelter also offers USB charging ports and enhanced accessibility features including braille plate for visually impaired passengers and a spacious waiting area designed for those with reduced mobility.

According to MGM, the “Distinctive Smart Bus Shelter” is aimed at enhancing Macau’s urban environment and its development into a smart and green city, featuring a “perfect blend” of functionality, sustainability and smart technology while harmonizing with its surroundings.

The shelter went into operation on Monday.

MGM said the unique bus shelter incorporates MGM’s elements as well as its sustainability ethos, with the design generated using artificial intelligence, drawing upon a series of crafted prompts from the MGM Design Team. Following the initial concept generation, further testing and validation were conducted in collaboration with JCDecaux (Macau) Limited to ensure the structural integrity, safety and overall functionality.
