The 2024 Asian Gaming Power 50 Gala Dinner takes place tonight at Solaire Resort North, Philippines, with the countdown now well and truly on to see who will rank Number 1 this year.
Nearly 300 guests representing the who’s who of the Asia-Pacific gaming and integrated resort industries will gather from 6.30pm in the Grand Ballroom at Solaire Resort North, where they will enjoy an hour of Welcome Cocktails – sponsored by Solaire Resort North – before sitting down for a sumptuous five-course meal, world-class entertainment and the opportunity to meet with industry colleagues from across the region.
Most importantly, Inside Asian Gaming will count down this year’s Asian Gaming Power 50 – the annual list of the 50 most influential people in the industry over the past 12 months.
This year’s list has seen substantial movement, with Macau now powering forward again in its second year since reopening and the Philippines continuing to excite with its ever-expanding array of top-notch offerings in Manila, Clark, Cebu and beyond.
While the Power 50 remains a tightly guarded secret, IAG can reveal that this year’s list includes nine people who were not in the top 50 names in 2023. It’s also tight at the top, where Galaxy Entertainment Group Vice Chairman Francis Lui will be looking to equal Sheldon Adelson’s record of six Number 1 finishes in a row. But it won’t be easy with Melco’s Lawrence Ho, Genting’s Lim Kok Thay, Las Vegas Sands’ Robert Goldstein and MGM’s Pansy Ho – who ranked second to fifth last year in that order – all driving their respective companies to achieve solid growth in 2024.
Notably, only four people have ever held the number one ranking – the late Stanley Ho, Lim Kok Thay, the late Sheldon Adelson and of course Mr Lui.
Who will be number one in 2024? All will be revealed tonight as the Asian Gaming Power 50 celebrates its 17th year with the theme, “The Place To Be”.
