Leading Korean foreigner-only casino operator Paradise Co saw its casino revenue dip to KRW61.6 billion (US$46.5 million) in September, down 16.5% year-on-year and 14.4% lower than in August.
The reduced gaming revenue came on the back of declines across the board, with the company’s gaming table segment booking a 14.8% sequential drop to KRW57.3 billion (US$43.2 million) and machine revenue an 8.9% decrease to KRW4.30 billion (US$3.25 million).
Table drop of KRW563.6 billion (US$425 million) was also down 15.6% on August and 0.7% compared the same period in 2023.
Casino revenues for the first nine months of 2024 combined remain up 8.8% year-on-year to KRW614.5 billion (US$464 million) on a 15.5% improvement in drop to KRW5.21 trillion (US$3.93 billion).
Paradise, which recently revealed plans to develop a luxury hotel in Seoul and upgrade its VIP gaming areas to improve its appeal to international guests, operates four casinos in Korea including integrated resort Paradise City in Incheon – a joint venture with Japan’s Sega Sammy – plus casinos in Seoul, Busan and Jeju.
