The Macau SAR government recorded revenue from gaming tax of MOP$6.83 billion (US$851 million) in July, down 12.2% compared with June’s gaming tax revenue of MOP$7.78 billion (US$967 million) but 16.2% higher year-on-year.
The July figure reflects Macau’s gross gaming revenue from the month of June, with the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau having previously reported June GGR of MOP$17.7 billion (US$2.20 billion).
For the first seven months of 2024 combined, gaming tax has amounted to MOP$51.6 billion (US$6.43 billion), an increase of 58.0% compared with the same period last year, according to information from the Financial Services Bureau (DSF).
The Macau SAR government has estimated that gaming tax revenue for FY24 will be around MOP$83.6 billion (US$10.4 billion), with the budget execution rate from January to July currently standing at 61.7%.
The government’s total revenue for the first seven months of this year amounted to MOP$61.2 billion (US$7.62 billion), a year-on-year increase of 49.7%. The special gaming tax from concessionaires has accounted for 84.4% of the total.
