SBC has announced the inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, as a speaker at the upcoming SBC Summit 2024 in Lisbon as part of a fireside discussion.
The fireside discussion will focus on how Berners-Lee’s vision of a globally connected network of computers has revolutionized the way we share information. It will be held on the Super Stage at Feira Internacional de Lisboa’s MEO Arena – one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe – on 24 September at 11:45am.
Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in 1989 during his tenure as a software engineer at CERN, the renowned particle physics lab near Geneva, Switzerland. He saw the unrealized potential of millions of computers linked via the Internet and conceived the Web as a global platform for sharing information.
