Star Entertainment Group Chairman David Foster and former CEO Robbie Cooke are among a high-flying group of executives listed to appear in the coming days as an inquiry into the casino operator’s suitability enters its second week of public hearings.
They will be joined by Chief Risk Officer Scott Saunders, Chief Transformation Officer Nicola Burke and, later in the week, Director Anne Ward.
The appearances of Foster and Cooke promise to be intriguing viewing following testimony last week that the duo had discussed going to “war” with the NSW Independent Casino Commission (NICC) and the Manager in charge of casino operations, Nicholas Weeks.
Cultural transformation expert Dr Attracta Lagan also revealed an absence by senior Star management of sufficient desire to transform the company’s culture, stating, “Star never listened … Robbie Cooke was too busy raising funds. There was no feedback loop.
“They spent a fortune on consultants but never built an organization from within and never hired someone [as an internal position] to help manage any cultural change.”
Foster is listed as the third witness to appear this week with Cooke to follow immediately afterwards.
