The receiver in charge of auctioning off many of the assets of embattled Saipan casino operator Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC on Wednesday sold two Rolls Royce vehicles owned by IPI for a combined US$333,000.
In a live online auction, Clear Management Ltd completed the sale of the two vehicles for US$163,000 and US$170,000 respectively, taking the total number of IPI vehicles now sold off to 11. IAG understands there are more than 100 vehicles in total, with another vehicle auction currently scheduled for June.
As reported by IAG, Clear Management recently sold off a large batch of high-end liquor held by IPI and is also looking to sell two Crystal Dragons adorning the lobby of IPI’s casino, Imperial Palace • Saipan. The Crystal Dragon auction closes on 22 August.
Danny Ewing, a former IPI employee who is now Operations Director of Clear Management, previously told IAG, “The Crystal Dragons are unique art pieces and deserve a 5-star setting. All discussions to date have been with potential buyers in the Middle East.”
The IPI auctions come with IPI still engaged in revocation hearings with the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC) over the future of its Saipan casino license and having this week submitted its latest settlement proposal in a last-ditch bid to save the license.
The CCC, which first filed five complaints against IPI in 2021 for failure to comply with certain requirements under its license agreement, is scheduled to make a final decision on IPI’s license on 22 April.
IPI’s license has been suspended since April 2021.
