Full construction of Marina Bay Sands’ US$3.3 billion expansion project is set to begin by July 2025, the company has announced, with a target completion date of July 2029.

The expansion of Singapore’s iconic integrated resort, designed by the same architectural firm that created the existing structure, Safdie Architects, will include a fourth hotel tower with a sky roof, a 15,000-seat entertainment arena and additional premium MICE space, as well as new food and beverage and nightlife offerings.

MBS on Friday unveiled a series of recent “design enhancements” to the multi-billion dollar expansion project – first announced in 2019 – including an updated perspective of the highly-anticipated fourth tower

“With the ongoing support of the Singapore Government, this development will further enhance the leisure and business tourism appeal of Singapore,” said Patrick Dumont, President and Chief Operating Officer of MBS’s parent company, Las Vegas Sands.

“It optimizes the site’s programming elements and is designed to drive high-value tourism growth to Singapore.

“The all-suite hotel tower will set new standards of hospitality, the state-of-the-art arena will help attract the highest-calibre global entertainment events and artists, and the additional convention and exhibition space will extend the success of Singapore as a leading MICE destination. This significant investment in Singapore will help ensure Marina Bay Sands is ideally positioned to grow its economic, employment and visitorship contributions in the years ahead.”

MBS said the new state-of-the-art arena that will form part of the property’s expansion is designed to be the leading live entertainment venue in Asia and intended to help drive additional travel to Singapore. The arena will help attract top entertainers from Asia and around the world who previously may not have included Southeast Asia on their tours, while the additional MICE space will help attract more new-to-Singapore events, the company explained.

Aside from its expansion project, MBS has already invested US$1 billion into revamping Towers 1 and 2 of the existing property and recently announced an additional US$750 million investment to upgrade Tower 3.
