IAG announces major expansion with launch of Philippines media and events brand to focus exclusively on online gaming in Asia

Inside Asian Gaming (IAG) has today, on day 2 of the final ICE show in London, announced its intention to launch a completely new media and events brand entirely dedicated to the online gaming industry in the Asia Pacific region.

The new brand will be based in the Philippines and will commence operations later in 2024, focussing on all forms of online gaming, including casino, sports betting, poker, lotteries and more. Just as with the existing IAG brand, which was established almost 20 years ago in 2005, the new online gaming brand will have a strong editorial foundation as its cornerstone, with all articles written by staff of the new brand and no content aggregation from other sources.

The new brand will also conduct a major annual exhibition in Manila, which will include an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their latest technological platforms and industry solutions, a thought-leadership component where stakeholders will come together to discuss the latest trends and industry issues, and a range of social and business networking opportunities.

IAG Vice Chairman and CEO Andrew W Scott added, “We’re absolutely thrilled to finally be making this announcement, which we have been working on for a very long time. Many of our customers and soon-to-be customers – iGaming solution providers, operators and other stakeholders from around the world – have been asking us to do this for many years.

“Now with the pandemic well and truly behind us, the gaming business once again booming across Asia, and the Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR fully embracing and supporting the online gaming industry, the time is perfect to make this announcement. And what better time to do it than right in the middle of the last ever ICE in London, with the IAG team literally surrounded on all four sides by hundreds of the world’s leading iGaming businesses.”

When pressed for more details, Scott continued, “We’re not yet announcing the name of the new brand, we’ll save that for a bit later. But we have the name chosen, and it has already grown on key members of our team. This launch means we’ll now have two brands – IAG and the new brand – based in Macau and Manila respectively. We’ll take this opportunity to keep all our land-based content and events under the IAG brand, with all the online gaming equivalents under the new brand.

“Some European or American industry participants may find that a bit strange, but Asia really is a very unique place with business done quite differently to other parts of the world. As the industry currently stands in the APAC region, land-based and iGaming are almost two different worlds, and it makes sense to have separate media and events brands dedicated to each.

“Everyone in our industry knows that the Asian gaming market is the biggest in the world, by far. Yet regulation of iGaming in Asia is lagging decades behind that in Europe. We want our new media brand to play a key part in addressing this. The new Asian iGaming media outlet will play a pivotal role in setting the agenda and pushing the conversation forward. We will be doing all we can to strengthen legal, regulated and fair online gaming in Asia, with all the latest in player protections, responsible gaming, best AML practices and of course appropriate tax revenues for governments.

“For example, we applaud what PAGCOR is doing to improve the industry. IAG already has a very longstanding and close relationship with PAGCOR and I’m sure this will carry over to our new iGaming media and events brand. We will bring the same high level of professionalism that we have demonstrated at IAG over the past 19 years to the new brand, along with our strong focus on personal relationships across the Asia-Pacific region and our can-do attitude. We see the new brand becoming the leading and most trusted authority for iGaming in Asia, just as IAG has become for the Asian land-based gaming industry.”
