Philippines-based technology provider DFNN, whose interests include the provision of online gaming platforms for local casino operators, has announced the appointment of Tesla engineer Nicholas Te to its Board of Directors.
Te will be tasked with driving technical innovation and space investment at DFNN as the company looks to expand its forays into technological advancements.
DFNN said thew appointment of Te is a strategic move and part of its diversification efforts, taking advantage of burgeoning opportunities in the technology sector.
“Our aim is to synergize our current expertise with the innovative vision of our technology experts, creating a formidable team that will oversee the flawless execution of our strategic initiatives,” the company explained.
Te holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California in Berkeley, and has been an engineer at Elon Musk’s Tesla, Inc for the past three years. His expertise incorporates battery production, computer science and various fields of traditional engineering including electrical, aerospace, metallurgical, chemical and mechanical.
“My career is characterized by a dedication to innovation, strategic thinking, and fostering collaboration among diverse teams, all of which align seamlessly with DFNN’s growth-focused vision,” he said.
“As DFNN starts diversification, it is exciting to hear that we will be among the first to venture into space investment. As a country behind in the space race, primarily for operational and commercial satellites, I believe that our foray will create a platform for investments in weather, communication, and land development/mineral resource technologies.
“DFNN’s storied experience with gaming, digital commerce, cyber security, and artificial intelligence will greatly benefit our navigation of these untested waters.”
Aside from its PIGO platform, launched in 2020, DFNN holds licenses for Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), operates a sports betting exchange, and runs digit and pari-mutuel games in partnership with gaming regulator PAGCOR.
