Lotte Tour’s Jeju Dream Tower integrated resort saw casinos revenues fall by 10.9% month-on-month to KRW17.9 billion (US$13.5 million) in August, albeit off a record-breaking performance in July.
According to information filed with the Korea Exchange on Tuesday, the August result included table game revenue of KRW15.9 billion (US$11.9 million), down 9.2%, and machine revenue of KRW2.0 billion (US$1.5 million), down 22.4%. Casino revenue was, however, up 353% compared with the same month in 2022.
Table drop of KRW132.8 billion (US$99.8 million) was slightly improved over July and 210% higher year-on-year.
As previously reported by IAG, Jeju Dream Tower had in July seen revenues jump by 76% month-on-month to KRW20.1 billion (US$15.5 million).
August also saw hotel sales of KRW10.5 billion (US$7.9 million), up 8.8% month-on-month but down 11.0% compared with August 2022.
For the first eight months of 2023 combined, casino revenue is up 171% year-on-year to KRW86.0 billion (US$64.6 million) while hotel sales are down 24.8% to KRW61.4 billion (US$46.1 million).
The tallest building in Jeju at 38 floors or 169 meters high, Jeju Dream Tower features a retail mall, 14 restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck, top floor skydeck with lounge, two spas and a casino boasting 150 tables and 300 slot machines.
The casino was relocated from its former home at the smaller Lotte Hotel Jeju in June 2021 and covers more than 5,000 square meters while offering 141 gaming tables, 190 slot machines and 71 electronic table games.
