Representatives of Goa-based offshore casino Big Daddy have strongly refuted media reports suggesting a high-profile Indian gambling investor who was arrested in Thailand for illegal gambling earlier this month is associated with their operation in any way.

Chikoti Praveen Kumar was one of 83 people arrested in Phuket after authorities discovered a makeshift casino in the convention hall of a Pattaya hotel. It is alleged he and an associate shipped in gaming equipment and dealers from India for the event, held at the Asia Pattaya Hotel in Chonburi.

Media reports at the time claimed Kumar operates a floor of Big Daddy Casino, however in a statement, a company representative insisted there was no truth to those reports.

“We would like to clarify that Mr Chikoti Praveen Kumar is not associated with Big Daddy Casino in any capacity,” the statement reads.

“Recent claims suggesting a connection between Mr Chikoti Praveen Kumar and our organization are false and without merit. Big Daddy Casino maintains a reputation for transparent operations and ethical practices, and we categorically refute any association with Mr Chikoti Praveen Kumar in terms of investment, ownership, management, or any other business-related aspect.”

Measuring in at 72-meters long and 24-meters wide, Big Daddy Casino first set sail in March 2019 offering 100 gaming tables across 50,000 square feet spaced out across three decks.
