The number of visitor arrivals to Macau in April grew by 275% year-on-year and by 16.2% sequentially to 2,274,050 in April, according to figures from the Statistics and Census Service.

The April figure included 108,529 foreign visitors, an increase of 65.3% compared to March. Arrivals from mainland China numbered 1,386,944, with another 745,282 from Hong Kong.

The largest foreign source market was the Philippines, contributing 29,599 visitors, followed by Indonesia with 14,792 visitors.

The number of visitors from Singapore to Macau grew by 15% to 4,743.

In addition, the number of visitors from Europe and Australia also increased significantly in April with 10,569 visitors from Europe, up 46.6% and 3,001 from Australia, up 63.3%.

For the first four months of 2023, the number of visitor arrivals was 7,222,408, an increase of 191% over the same period last year.
