Macau’s six concessionaires will cooperate with the Macao Labor Affairs Bureau (DSAL) to launch a job fair in April, looking to recruit for a combined 1,090 jobs.

Since the reopening of Macau to the outside world on 8 January, the integrated resort and broader tourism industries have faced a shortage of manpower to cope with a rapid increase in visitor arrivals. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), said in February that up to 3,000 hotel rooms were offline purely due to labor shortages

DSAL said on Thursday that in order to relieve the pressure on the manpower needs of enterprises and to help Macau residents with their own employment needs, it will continue to launch job fairs in April in cooperation with concessionaires.

“A total of 1,090 job vacancies will be offered by the front and back office departments of the leisure companies’ hotels and catering establishments, covering professional, technical, middle and junior positions,” it said.

“The positions include cyber security office analyst, senior specialist in e-commerce, assistant manager in strategic analysis, facilities management engineer and technician, food control officer, physiotherapist, caterer and more.”

The initial matchmaking sessions for each company will be arranged as follows:

Galaxy Entertainment Group 14 and 27 April
Melco Resorts 13 and 20 April
MGM China 12 and 26 April
Sands China 13 and 25 April
SJM Resorts 13 and 21 April
Wynn Macau 12 and 20 April
