MGM Japan will host a “Next-Generation Leaders Training Program” from 7 to 10 February, with around 50 undergraduate and graduate students from seven universities expected to take part.
The program offers participants a chance to hear lectures from top leaders at MGM Resorts and gain experience and know-how in resort management, all in English, aiming to cultivate international business skills.
The Kinki University Career Center announced that it will be sending 10 students to the program.
Other participating institutions include Kansai Foreign Language University, Kansai Gakuin University, Kyoto Foreign Language University, Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, and Ritsumeikan University Business School.
Last year’s entire program was held online, but this year participants will gather for the first and final days in Osaka to conduct discussions that cross beyond their university walls.
Online courses in the program will include lectures from field experts in English regarding accommodation facilities, casino, food and beverage, MICE and other divisions. The aim is for students can learn the latest in international tourism and business, and acquire the necessary international perspective for working in a global industry. They will also learn about initiatives in IR for “Responsible gaming” to ensure safe entertainment and sustainable business practices, MGM said.
The final day will consist of group presentations in groups with students from other universities as well as a social gathering with MGM Resorts employees.
MGM Japan is the Japanese arm of MGM Resorts, which alongside local partner ORIX has submitted an application to Japan’s central government to develop a US$9 billion integrated resort in Osaka.
