The number of visitors entering Macau has topped 100,000 in the first three days since border restrictions were removed, with 109,386 visitor arrivals in that time according to figures from the Public Security Police Force.
Macau welcomed another 34,264 arrivals on Tuesday, slightly down on the 35,479 who arrived Monday and the 39,643 who arrived on Sunday. Sunday’s figure was the highest single day visitor tally since February 2022 and there are high hopes that number will be broken again this weekend.
Of the 109,386 arrivals since Sunday, 58,109 entered Macau through the Gongbei Border Gate with another 19,698 arriving via Hengqin Port.
Taipa Ferry Terminal welcomed 6,074 arrivals following the resumption of regular ferry services for the first time in three years on Sunday.
New efforts to further encourage visitor arrivals have been announced by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) this week, including a “two for one” deal for Hong Kong visitors that will see them given a free return bus or ferry ticket when they purchase a ticket to Macau – provided they stay for at least one night.
