Macau confirms ferry services to and from Hong Kong to resume Sunday

The Macau government announced on Thursday that ferry services between Hong Kong’s Shun Tak Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan and Macau will resume on Sunday, although the first phase will only link to the Taipa Ferry Terminal near Cotai in Macau, and with just 10 journeys per day.

Both TurboJET and Cotai Water Jet will provide daytime services.

The two shipping companies will provide about 10 round-trip sailings per day, with TurboJET telling IAG it will offer a maximum of eight departures per day. The earliest departure from Taipa Ferry Terminal will be at 9am while the earliest departure from the Hong Kong terminal will be 7:30am. Ticket sales will begin at midday on 6 January.

“We’re delighted to finally be running Turbojet services again between Hong Kong and Macau,” said TurboJET’s Director of Macau Services Division, Alfred Ng.

“It’s been a difficult time through the pandemic for everyone. We look forward to the recovery of the regional travel market and will continue to contribute to the robust development of the Greater Bay Area in our role.”

TurboJET also revealed that the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal will resume operations on 18 January and a nighttime ferry services will begin on 20 January.

Cotai Water Jet told IAG it will provide three departures each way between Hong Kong and Macau every day.

The daily schedules from this Sunday 8 January are as follows:

TurboJET
Hong Kong to Macau: 0730, 0900, 1000*, 1030, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1530
Macau to Hong Kong: 0900, 1030, 1130, 1230, 1400, 1500*, 1530, 1700

*Available from Monday to Thursday and Saturday only

Cotai Water Jet
Hong Kong to Macau: 0930, 1300, 1600
Macau to Hong Kong: 1100, 1430 1730
