Caesars Entertainment has announced the dates for next year’s World Series of Poker, with the famous tournament series to take place at Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s from 30 May to 18 July 2023.
This will be the second consecutive year the WSOP has been held on the Las Vegas Strip since relocating from its former home at the Rio, with Caesars recently unveiling plans to rename Bally’s as Horseshoe Las Vegas in recognition of poker’s long-awaited return. Binion’s Horseshoe in Downtown Las Vegas hosted the WSOP for its first 35 years from 1970 to 2004.
While the full schedule of events will be released at a later date, the 2023 WSOP Main Event is locked in with four Day 1 flights between 3 and 6 July and a winner to be crowned on 17 July.
Among the other highlights is a new US$1,000 buy-in “Mystery Millions” opening event featuring mystery bounties from US$10,000 to US$1 million and a US$1 million guaranteed first prize
“The historic debut of the WSOP on the Las Vegas Strip delivered in a big way, and we’re excited to announce our Summer 2023 dates in time for the holidays,” said WSOP Senior Vice President and Executive Director Ty Stewart.
“Poker players and fans can now officially mark their calendars and maybe even book their loved ones or themselves a trip to the WSOP as a holiday gift. We’re glad to be back at Paris Las Vegas and the future Horseshoe Las Vegas for another exciting chapter in the tournament’s history as these two resorts raised the bar in hosting last year’s event.”
The 2022 WSOP saw 197,626 entrants from more than 100 countries take part across 88 bracelet events, generating a record-breaking $347.9 million in combined prize pools.
The Main Event itself was the second largest in history with 8,663 starters and a US$80,782,475 prize pool.
