Inside Asian Gaming has announced that the 14th instalment of networking social event Macau After Dark, MAD 14, will be held on Friday 9 December 2022 at Vasco – Bar & Lounge, Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau.

The theme of MAD14 is “Christmas After Dark – Very Merry Christmas!” with guests invited to join Inside Asian Gaming to celebrate the end of another year while enjoying all that Vasco Bar & Lounge has to offer.

Vasco – Bar and Lounge is named in honour of Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese explorer who set out to do what no man had ever done before – open a trade route from Portugal to the East. Vasco successfully bridged the East with the West in the Age of Discovery, and now more than 500 years later, Macau epitomises the perfect blend of these two extraordinary cultures.

Vasco – Bar and Lounge is an invitingly warm and spacious setting for drinks and light snacks. Guests often sit around the bar watching the bartenders in action and listening to stories about Macau’s past or relax in a more intimate corner deeper inside the bar overlooking the streets.

“Since Vasco – Bar & Lounge re-opened last Christmas, its curated cocktails and beverage program together with its live entertainment line-up is much loved in town, it has become one of the city’s popular hot spots for social gatherings, drinks and live entertainment,” said Mr Rutger Verschuren, Area Vice President, Macau Operations of Artyzen Hospitality Group and General Manager of Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau.

The ever-popular lucky draw at last year’s Christmas After Dark!

“This year again, we are thrilled to collaborate with Inside Asian Gaming on its Christmas After Dark event, by December our hotel lobby will be decorated with a stunning 5-meter red and gold Christmas tree. With our charming venue, artisanal drinks as well as the top-notch hospitality, together with IAG, we look forward to welcoming everyone to this very special networking event.”

IAG Vice Chairman and CEO Andrew W Scott said, “After the great success of our Christmas Party last year at Vasco Bar & Lounge, many of our guests asked if we could stick with the same venue for 2022, and I’m absolutely delighted to say we have.

Guests enjoy Christmas After Dark in 2021.

“Artyzen Grand Lapa have been great supporters of IAG through the tough past few years and a joyous Christmas party at Vasco Bar & Lounge will be a great way to see the year out. I’d especially like to thank all the Christmas MAD sponsors and their leaders – Mr. Rutger Verschuren, Area Vice President, Macau Operations of Artyzen Hospitality Group and General Manager of Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau; Ken Jolly, Vice President and Managing Director, Asia for Light & Wonder; and Michael Cheers, Sales Director, Asia for IGT.

“Here’s to a very merry Christmas and a much better 2023 for us all!”

MAD is a regular series of industry networking social events held in Asia’s gaming hub of Macau. Each MAD brings together key industry decision-makers with the people they want to meet in a relaxed and friendly environment. A new venue is chosen for each event.

Note that, due its enormous popularity, MAD has for some time been a strictly-by-invitation-only event. Invited guests must RSVP and be confirmed by having an official event entry ticket on their phones. All guests must supply their business cards upon arrival. There is also a select VIP list for each event.
