SJM Resorts Ltd has revealed that Daisy Ho will be appointed as Managing Director. Previously, the Managing Director was Angela Leong.
A press release issued by SJM this week confirmed that the new appointment grants Ho an expanded scope of authority over the management of SJM Resorts.
“Daisy Ho will be the official permanent representative of SJM Resorts and will be responsible for all official business dealings and contacts with the Macau government and all organizations, including SJM Resorts’ subsidiaries,” the company said.
“In addition, Daisy Ho is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company and setting corporate policies, objectives and investment plans to ensure that the company and its activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.”
Ho’s appointment brings the company into line with a stipulation of the new gaming law which provides that management of concessionaires shall be delegated to a Managing Director who “shall be a permanent resident of the Macau SAR and shall hold at least 15% of the capital stock of the concessionaire.”
Her sister Pansy Ho was recently appointed Managing Director of MGM China.
Ho, who is also an executive director of SJM Holdings Limited, joined the Board of Directors of SJM in March 2019
SJM submitted its tender for a new Macau gaming concession on 14 September and successfully passed the government’s tender opening on 16 September.
