Wynn Macau announced Tuesday that it has submitted its tender to the Macau government for a new gaming concession, to be held under the name of Wynn Resorts (Macau) S. A.
While all six of Macau’s current concessionaires have publicly stated they will participate in the Macau casino tender, Wynn Macau is the first to publicly confirm that it has submitted a bid. It also comes just a day before bidding for new concessions closes on 14 September.
In a filing, Wynn said, “Wynn Resorts (Macau), a wholly-owned subsidiary, submitted a tender to the Macau government on 13 September 2022 for the award of a 10-year gaming contract allowing it to operate casino gaming in Macau from 1 January 2023.”
Sands China President President Wilfred Wong also commented on his company’s bid on Saturday, telling media, “[Sands] is now nearing the final stage of its bid, which has been fully prepared and is being finalized in the last few days, and [we] will definitely submit it to the government before the deadline.”
The Macau government published the rules for the re-tendering of gaming concessions in June, with criteria calling on operators to incorporate their plans for developing foreign tourist markets, the benefits brought by gaming and non-gaming investments to Macau, and the corporate social responsibilities they would undertake.
