A 51-year-old Filipino maintenance employee working at the Wynn Palace Hotel in Taipa suffered a cranial crush injury while working on mechanical equipment around 7:00 this morning and was taken to hospital, where it was confirmed the worker had passed away from his injuries.

After the incident, police and fire workers were quickly on the scene. The fire department said that the man was found on the floor of a plant room at the hotel.

 

Labor Bureau later came to the scene to conduct an investigation.

The Labor Bureau later came to the scene to conduct an investigation. The preliminary investigation showed the deceased suffered a cranial crush injury from a component while repairing mechanical equipment.

The Labour Bureau said, “For the safety of the workers, the employer has been notified to stop all work at the site of the accident and requested to submit an accident investigation report. The Labor Bureau will continue to investigate the cause of the accident and will pursue the responsible entities according to the facts of the investigation.”

In response to the accident, Wynn confirmed the incident, stating that “a team member was involved in a fatal accident at Wynn Palace this morning and we are currently cooperating with the authorities as they conduct their investigations.”

“We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to our colleague’s family, and we will extend our full support to them during this very difficult time.”
