More than 3,000 people returned to the Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) on Tuesday as the region’s largest gaming exhibition made its long-awaited comeback.

According to information provided by the event’s organizer, the Gaming Technologies Association, there were 3,158 total visitors on Tuesday – just shy of the record 3,235 who attended the last time AGE was held in 2019.

Feedback was also widely positive with exhibitors and attendees alike telling IAG they were thrilled to be back at what many deem to be their most important face-to-face business opportunity each year.

The 31st edition of AGE covers over 9,000 square meters of space and features more than 200 exhibitors representing everything from gaming-specific products to innovative hospitality supplies such as audio-visual equipment, ATM equipment, building services, cash handling equipment, consultancy services, entertainment, financial services, food and beverage, furniture, IT, interior design and fitout, marketing services and more.

Today’s second day of AGE 2022 will see Inside Asian Gaming present two key panel sessions for the AGE seminar series. The first panel, titled “Slots: the convergence between ANZ and Asian studios, themes and mechanics”, is scheduled to take place from 10.30am on Wednesday 10 August. IAG Managing Editor Ben Blaschke will be joined by Light & Wonder’s Senior Vice President of Global Product Management, Nathan Drane, and IGT’s Senior Director Product Management – APAC, Charles Seo, to discuss the latest trends in ANZ and how these games are influencing the entire Asia-Pacific region.

Immediately afterwards, from 11.10am, Ben will be joined by the former head of Victoria’s gaming regulator, Peter Cohen, VP and Managing Director Asia for Light & Wonder, Ken Jolly, and Partner at Addisons Lawyers, Jamie Nettleton, for a panel titled “Contrasting Australian gaming regulation with other Asian jurisdictions.”

This panel will take a deep dive into regulatory changes emanating from recent Australian casino inquiries and how they will impact casino, pub and club operators across the country. It will also compare Australia’s new regulatory environment to other major APAC jurisdictions such as Macau, the Philippines and Singapore.

Today will also see the 2022 AGE Networking Lunch take place from 12pm to 2pm. Titled “Road to Recovery”, the networking lunch will see Aristocrat CEO and Managing Director Trevor Croker, Bankstown Sports Club CEO Mark Condi and The Laundy Group’s Craig Laundy discuss strategy, transformation and the future of our sector.

For those attending the show, be sure to visit IAG at Stand #280, located right next to Light & Wonder.
