G2E Asia is back in 2022 and headed to a brand new home, albeit planned to be a temporary one, at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands.

Three years and three months after it was last held in its traditional home of The Venetian Macao, G2E Asia is back. The long-running trade show, celebrating its 14th edition in 2022, makes its long-awaited comeback in August after the 2020 and 2021 events were cancelled – albeit at a planned temporary new home at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) in Singapore.

Maintaining its relationship with Las Vegas Sands – whose duo of MBS and The Venetian Macao makes up part of its stable of Asian integrated resorts – G2E Asia Special Edition: Singapore will run for three days from 24 to 26 August 2022, combining a slimmed-down exhibition with a comprehensive three-day conference program.

According to Josephine Lee, Chief Operating Officer of co-organizer RX (Reed Exhibitions) China, Singapore was the logical choice of event venue for 2022 given the ongoing COVID-19 border restrictions limiting access to Macau.

“Singapore is located at the center of Southeast Asia and is a global transport hub with flight connections from hundreds of cities around the world, which makes travel very easy,” Lee said.

“On the other hand, Singapore’s Vaccinated Travel Framework allows all fully vaccinated travelers to enter Singapore without applying for entry approvals.

“Asia is emerging from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and new developments are taking place in Southeast Asia. We are excited to create the special edition of G2E Asia in Singapore this year which allows suppliers to reconnect face-to-face with current customers and meet new customers to expand business in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, India and South Korea.

“G2E Asia also serves as a one-stop business platform allowing connections in a targeted environment and direct access to the latest market trends, insights and regulatory requirements.”

Visitors to G2E Asia Special Edition: Singapore will find a variety of new features, including the Smart IR and Innovation Zone showcasing innovative solutions to enhance communication with customers, improve work efficiency and scale up sustainability, and the Esports Connect Asia Zone which will focus on eSports games, hardware and devices.

G2E Asia 2022 will also be co-located with the Esports Connect Asia Regulatory Workshop, targeting the regulatory and legal fields. The workshop will see experts share their knowledge and experience on the challenges and opportunities in the regulation of eSports and video games for consumer protection and economic development.

Inside Asian Gaming has also joined forces with show organizers RX and the American Gaming Association as Lead Media and Production Partner, expanding upon the long-standing Lead Media Partner position that IAG has held with G2E Asia for many years.

As Lead Media and Production Partner, IAG will manage the entire conference at G2E Asia Singapore, including complete event management, speaker administration, conference reception, delegate sales, conference room management, sponsor sales and management and production of a special conference guide.

IAG will also organize and host a series of Livestreamed Digital Guided Tours for guests who are unable to attend the event – direct from the show floor. There will be tours across all three days of the event, with each guided tour to run for a little over an hour. The Digital Guided Tours will be live-streamed via several G2E Asia and IAG channels to be announced closer to the show.

“IAG has been organizing and producing professional and social events for the Asian gaming and entertainment industry for many years, and we’re delighted RX have entrusted us with responsibility for the conference at this year’s G2E Asia event,” said Andrew W Scott, Vice Chairman and CEO of Inside Asian Gaming.

“In addition, the live-streamed guided tours IAG will be conducting on G2E Asia’s behalf will offer a great opportunity for those who can’t make it to Singapore to feel part of the show. Both offerings will provide an opportunity for sponsors to promote their brand and products to the Asian gaming industry as IAG will be offering conference session sponsorships, livestream guided tour sponsorships, and advertising positions in our printed conference guide to be distributed to all delegates at the show conference.”

While RX China has confirmed that G2E Asia will return to Macau once the prevailing environment allows, Lee explained that the temporary move to Singapore provides a unique opportunity to acknowledge emerging markets.

“G2E Asia Singapore this year will focus on Southeast Asian markets, including Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and the new emerging markets such as Thailand,” she explained.

“G2E Asia Singapore will also feature a G2E Asia Live Platform through which [paid delegates] will be able to view the conference online, access the Livestreamed Digital Guided Tours, browse the online exhibitor directory and more. The G2E Asia Live Platform allows an effective way to make a connection with industry before, during and after the show.”

The 2019 edition of G2E Asia attracted a total of 16,563 local and international visitors to The Venetian Macao, representing a 1.2% increase on 2018. Visitors came from 105 countries and regions.
