Having set new attendance records each and every year since relocating to ICC Sydney in 2017, the Australasian Gaming Expo makes a welcome return in 2022 for its first in-person event in three years.

After a long three-year hiatus, representatives from all sectors of the Australian and New Zealand gaming industries will come back together again when the Australasian Gaming Expo returns to ICC Sydney from 9 to 11 August 2022.

ICC Sydney

Since its birth back in 1990, the Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) has grown to become the largest annual gaming expo in the southern hemisphere and an important meeting point for all suppliers and buyers working within hotels, clubs and casinos across the region.

That tradition will continue in 2022, with the 31st edition of the show to cover 9,000 square meters of space and feature more than 200 exhibitors representing everything from gaming-specific products to innovative hospitality supplies such as audio-visual equipment, ATM equipment, building services, cash handling equipment, consultancy services, entertainment, financial services, food and beverage, furniture, IT, interior design and fitout, marketing services and more.

Gaming suppliers will include industry-leading firms like Ainsworth, Aristocrat, Aruze, IGT, Konami and Light & Wonder, showcasing the latest in cutting-edge gaming design and technologies.

All of this takes place inside one of Australia’s elite exhibition venues. Having spent its first 24 years in Darling Harbour before temporarily relocating to nearby Glebe Island in 2014 while the new ICC Sydney was built, AGE returned to its permanent home in 2017 where it has expanded in size every year since, COVID years aside, and now takes up all four halls of the ICC exhibition area.

Located in the heart of Darling Harbour, ICC Sydney covers 32,600 square meters over two levels, boasting an array of business suites, speaker preparation rooms and 70 meeting and seminar rooms with views to the city skyline.

According to information from the Audited Media Association of Australia, AGE attracted 6,813 visitors in 2016, the last year it was held on Glebe Island, growing to 8,099 at ICC Sydney in 2017 and 8,638 in 2018.

In 2019, that number climbed to yet another record of 9,005 visits, up 4% year-on-year, including 6,931 unique visitors – 2% more than in 2018.

Celebrating the return of AGE, Inside Asian Gaming has been named Official Media and Production Partner for this year’s show. This exciting partnership will see IAG produce a brand new, 100-page official show publication, Inside AGE, to be distributed to all exhibition booths and at the main entrance of AGE 2022. Inside AGE will feature all key show information including a floor map, exhibitor list, networking guide, executive interviews, exhibitor product highlights and much more.

IAG will also organize two panel sessions for the AGE seminar series, including the selection of topics, sourcing and management of panel speakers and moderator, and managing the panels on the conference floor. The AGE Conference will run for two days on Tuesday 9 August and Wednesday 10 August 2022.

As one final point of interest, there have been 15 companies to have attended all 30 editions of AGE since it was first held some 32 years ago: Allpride Signs & Marketing, Aristocrat Technologies Australia, Aruze Gaming, Brintons Carpets, BSG Australia, Global Gaming Industries, IGT, Jensen Data Systems, Paynter Dixon, Plantscaping Solutions, Light & Wonder (previously Scientific Games), SICO South Pacific, Sprintquip, Technoprom and VFJ Currency Equipment.

That’s quite a display of loyalty for a show that has established itself as the place to be and to be seen each August.
