Cambodia has become the latest country to drop a mandatory hotel requirement for unvaccinated arrivals.
Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng announced the rule change on Friday, with the quarantine measure officially removed as of Monday 11 July. Travelers will, however, still be required to produce a negative rapid-antigen test (RAT) result upon arrival
“Unvaccinated travellers who enter the country by air, land or water no longer need to undergo the seven-day quarantine anymore, but they will be subjected to a mandatory rapid test upon arrival by health workers on standby at the entry points,” the Minister said.
Those who return a negative test result on arrival will be free to continue onto their destination while those who come back positive will either be asked to isolate at home or in a facility determined by the health ministry, at their own cost.
Cambodia dropped most COVID-19 restrictions for fully vaccinated international visitors in March, including a previous requirement to obtain a negative virus test within 72 hours of departure and to take a PCR test upon arrival.
