The World Poker Tour is set to host the largest single live tournament guarantee in the history of poker, with the first ever US$15 million guaranteed prize pool to be offered at Wynn Las Vegas in December.
The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas will run from 1 to 20 December 2022, featuring a marquee US$10,400 buy-in championship event which will culminate with a televised final table. The festival will consist of more than a dozen tournaments including three feature events – the Prime Championship, the Wynn Mystery Bounty and the World Championship.
“This is one of the most ambitious initiatives the World Poker Tour has undertaken in our 20-year history,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “We expect this to be a highly anticipated festival and are elated to be partnering with Wynn Las Vegas to bring this concept to life.”
The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas will include three “Day 1” flights on 12, 13, and 14 December with a winner to be crowned on 20 December. Each starting day will include a “freezeout” format, with players permitted a single entry per flight.
A second televised event, the inaugural 2022 World Poker Tour Prime Championship, will run from 8 to 12 December with a US$1,100 buy-in and US$2 million guaranteed prize pool, while the festival will wrap with the US$2 million guaranteed Wynn Mystery Bounty from 16-19 December, offering players a chance to draw for cash prizes of up to $100,000 after eliminating fellow competitors.

The WPT said it plans to run a series of live and online qualifiers to the event, with more details to be made public soon.
