Global sports technology company Sportradar has announced the appointment of long-time executive Oscar Brodkin as its new Managing Director Asia Pacific (APAC), reporting directly to Chief Commercial Officer Eduard Blonk.
Based in Singapore, Brodkin will oversee the business and sales functions at Sportradar and will be responsible for driving business strategies and developing new partnerships across key business verticals in the region, the company said this week.
“Oscar’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Asian sports landscape and experience in building as well as nurturing relationships with leading sports organisations make him well suited for this role,” said Blonk. “Oscar has been an integral part of Sportradar and will now drive the business and sales efforts in the region while continuing to deliver unrivalled experiences to our clients and partners.”
According to information from Sportradar, Brodkin has most recently served as the company’s Managing Director of Risk Intelligence. He was previously Director of Intelligence & Investigation Services, a suite of products created to help safeguard the integrity of clients’ sports and businesses.
Brodkin’s experience has seen him work around the region over the past nine years in cities such as Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Manila where has helped some of the biggest federations and sporting bodies in Asia combat match-fixing. These have included the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA), Football Association of Thailand (FAT), Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) and The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
