In the early morning hours of Saturday May 7, a suspected double murder case occurred in a room on the 9th floor of the MGM Cotai hotel, where the naked bodies of two women were found. They had been strangled to death, and police are now hunting for suspects.
Authorities suspect the incident occurred at 0:55 on Saturday, and was initially reported by MGM Cotai to the Macau Fire Department, which manages Macau’s ambulance service. After the two naked female bodies were found in the room, police undertook nearly eight hours of investigation, before announcing preliminary details of the case. The police believe the incident has a perpetrator, and the cause of death for the two women is suspicious.
Police found the bodies lying on the floor by the window of the room, with strangulation marks on each neck. No obvious signs of struggle were found at the scene. Police believe the murderer strangled the deceased with a bathrobe belt, and there were signs of cleaning up at the scene.
A forensic examination of the bodies led to the conclusion that the two victims were strangled to death. One of the bodies had abrasions on the right arm, the other had no obvious trauma or resistance injuries. The precise causes of death will be determined by autopsy.
At present, the police are continuing their investigations to identify the deceased and to locate the perpetrator.
