Solaire Resort & Casino’s “Solaire Is Safe for You” campaign highlights the property’s substantial efforts to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation.

Solaire Resort & Casino recently launched the “Solaire Is Safe for You” campaign, showcasing the property’s enhanced procedures aimed at keeping its guests and team members safe from the risks posed by COVID-19.

“Solaire Is Safe for You” was developed to meet the new and demanding standards in cleanliness and sanitation set by international bodies to ensure public health and safety.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020 saw the property usher in changes to its protocols, slowly adopting new additions to its facilities to adapt to an unprecedented time in the industry. These small adjustments eventually signaled a complete shift. For Solaire, this entailed meticulous planning, sourcing and testing which resulted in an overhaul of processes in both front and back of house, as well as facility upgrades. Temperature scanners, sanitizer dispensers, distancing markers, all the way to installation of state-of-the-art disinfection chambers and an on-site medical clinic solely dedicated to COVID-19 concerns were all introduced.

In July 2020, Solaire began internal simulations to polish its revamped measures and make necessary adjustments prior to rolling out a more sophisticated and detailed business operation in response to the challenges of the time. Apart from modifying its cleaning procedures and employing the use of high-grade disinfection and sanitizing agents and apparatuses, Solaire also installed high-performance UVC light technology to its central air-conditioning system, the first to do so in the Philippines’ IR market. This colossal addition to its facility is responsible for making sure the quality of air circulating in the property remains top notch by filtering and eliminating bacteria and viruses, and halting air-borne diseases from spreading.

Together with physical advancements, operational changes that reflect safety recommendations and directives were also implemented for a more secure environment for both guests and team members. These included strict guidelines on wearing protective equipment while inside the property, adopting digital practices for both front and back of house, consistent testing for team members, stringent health monitoring, and training and re-orientation programs on the “new normal”.

In addition, Solaire, together with the corporate foundation of its sister company International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI), which is owned by Enrique K. Razon, Jr – the Chairman and CEO of Solaire’s parent firm Bloomberry Resorts Corp – initiated the next phase of its recovery plan by procuring Moderna vaccines for its team members as well as five of their dependents at no cost to the team members. Selected areas of The Theatre at Solaire were converted to accommodate a robust vaccination process that supports both drive-thru and on-site appointments.

Since adopting this vast array of health and sanitation measures, Solaire has received several acclamations both from local and international bodies. It was awarded the “Sharecare Health Security VERIFIED with Forbes Travel Guide” badge and is recognized as one of 40 holders of the Safe Travels Stamp bestowed by the World Travel & Tourism Council.

Locally, Solaire’s efforts on public health and safety received commendation from both the public and private sectors. The property was awarded the Philippines’ Department of Tourism Safety Seal Certification and was the first recipient of the Thomas Edison Recognition Award from Intertek Philippines. More recently, Bloomberry Resorts Corp was awarded the 2021 Asia Responsible Enterprise Award for Health Promotion. This award recognizes the company’s various contributions to promoting health throughout the COVID-19 pandemic that included Bloomberry’s “Comprehensive COVID-19 Response Program” within the company’s flagship property Solaire Resort & Casino – which encompasses the “Solaire Is Safe for You” campaign – and in the local community.

“We continue to strive to go above and beyond the norms to provide the excellence, quality and genuine service that we are known for,” said Solaire President and Chief Operating Officer Thomas Arasi.

“We fully understand the deep concerns on cleanliness, sanitation and even social distancing, and have taken the necessary steps and changes to our procedures to address these and to safeguard everyone’s well-being. The health and safety of our guests and team members will continue to remain our utmost priority.”
