Landing International Development Ltd’s Korean integrated resort, Jeju Shinhwa World, is currently playing host to the first international visitors to the holiday island of Jeju in 21 months.
According to local Jeju media reports, a group of around 30 visitors arrived from Singapore on 25 November, spending four days at Jeju Shinhwa World Marriott Resort before returning home on Monday 29 November.
Jeju Shinhwa World was chosen by authorities for their stay, the reports state, specifically for its tourism attractions, which include Korea’s second largest foreigner-only casino, a theme park and water park, and multiple food and beverage outlets.
They will also have access to a special self-driving vehicles jointly developed by the Jeju Tourism Organization and Singapore Automobile Association in order to explore the island.
“This overseas group tour will be remembered as an important milestone in opening up the post-corona tourism era in Jeju,” said a Jeju Shinhwa World representative.
The arrival of the international visitors comes after Korea and Singapore earlier this month launched a travel bubble between the two countries, which also saw South Korea’s first visitors since early 2020 arriving at Incheon International Airport on 15 November.
