PRESIDENT AND COO
Bloomberry Resorts

PRESIDENT AND COO
Solaire Resort and Casino

POWER SCORE: 583
POSITION LAST YEAR: 46

CLAIMS TO FAME

  • Trusted confidante of Bloomberry owner Enrique Razon Jr
  • Serves as President, COO and Director of Solaire parent company Bloomberry

THOMAS ARASI joined the top ranks of Enrique Razon Jr’s leadership team in late 2013 after a tenure as CEO of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Since then, as Bloomberry President and COO of Solaire, he has been a key figure in positioning the IR as the market leader in the Philippines.

Arasi will be looking to extend this record to Solaire North in Quezon City, Bloomberry’s second integrated resort currently under development and due to open sometime in 2023.

But in the meantime, the COVID-19 pandemic has halted the company’s relentless growth with a series of government-mandated lockdowns keeping gaming revenue subdued.

Bloomberry reported an 18% decline in 2Q21 revenues and 29% fall in Consolidated EBITDA compared with the March quarter, impacted by the suspension of most gaming operations for 44 days in April and May.

In preparation for better days ahead, Solaire launched a new campaign titled “Solaire Is Safe For You” in July, aimed at establishing the IR as a safe destination. The campaign focused on Solaire’s COVID-19 prevention measures, most notably the installation of high-performance UVC light technology into the air-conditioning system. The system provides clean, high-quality air to 100% of the property including the casino, hotel towers, restaurants, bars, retail spaces, every hallway and staff offices, the company revealed.

Arasi will be hoping it also provides Solaire with a clean slate from which to recover in 2022.
