Scientific Games Corporation has made its first move into the live casino space following the acquisition of live casino games supplier Authentic Gaming.
The acquisition comes just a week after Scientific Games announced it had sold its lottery business to US asset management firm Brookfield Business Partners LP for US$6.05 billion, part of the company’s strategy to increase its investment in digital.
Based in Malta, Authentic Gaming currently serves the European iGaming via a range of live casino products. Best known for roulette, Authentic Gaming recently added live blackjack to its portfolio with both games streamed from a state-of-the-art studio as well as from the gaming floors of select European casinos. The games are currently integrated with major operators such as Entain, 888, Betway Group, LeoVegas and Mr Green.
Scientific Games said the acquisition of Authentic Gaming strengthens the company’s in-house development capabilities to build world-leading live casino products that will “provide immersive experiences for players globally and allow the company to further leverage its content IP, land-based relationships and leading OpenGaming platform for accelerated growth in this exciting channel.”
It also unveiled plans to expand Authentic Gaming’s product offering across the US market, including the creation of new studios based in the US with a focus on localizing its products.
