Wynn Macau Ltd has announced the appointment of rising culinary star Zhang Zhicheng as Executive Chef at two Michelin-starred restaurant Golden Flower, located at peninsula resort Wynn Macau.
Zhang, who owns high-end Beijing restaurant Yanjintang, is renowned for offering contemporary Sichuan, Shandong and Northern Chinese cuisines, Wynn said, complementing the “refined ambience” of Golden Flower.
He previously spent time at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace in March as part of the company’s Guest Chef Series, which included working with local students via various master class sessions at the Wynn F&B Academy, the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) and the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST).
Macau is recognized as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

Wynn described Zhang as “a master at unleashing the potential of original ingredients to unearth a myriad of flavors,” with a “reputation for inventing dishes that deeply touch the soul.
“Before arriving at Golden Flower, he opened a private kitchen within the courtyard residence of an ancient hutong, where he introduced bold and innovative dishes,” Wynn said.
“Soon after opening, the private kitchen quickly rose to become one of the hottest dining destinations in Beijing. Now at Golden Flower, Chef Zhang infuses his cooking philosophy and unique culinary concepts into masterful creations, presenting timeless classics for guests in Macau.”
