Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR says it has vaccinated more than 94% of its workforce, or around 11,500 employees, as it strives to achieve herd immunity in the workplace and across gaming areas.
According to details published this week, a total of 11,473 employees out of a total 12,176 nationwide have now vaccinated following a recent callout by management. Many of those employees work in PAGCOR’s 41 casinos, which include nine under the Casino Filipino brand and 32 satellite casinos.
“I commend the PAGCOR employees who are already fully vaccinated,” said PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo.
“Apart from protecting your families, you are also giving protection to our company.
“While we take great measures to strictly implement health and safety protocols in our offices and in the gaming areas, we all need another layer of protection amidst the emerging COVID variants – and that is vaccination.
“By ensuring that our personnel will not suffer severe COVID, or worse, death – we can confidently do our duties as public servants and contribute to nation building amidst the pandemic.”
Domingo said the agency’s high inoculation rate was achieved by working with Local Government Units in partnership with the Manila City Government and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. PAGCOR’s mass vaccination program was implemented in batches at Casino Filipino Manila Bay and in several inoculation sites in Cebu, among others, it said.
The goal is to reach 100% immunity as soon as possible.
