Dream Tower Casino, the recently opened casino at Lotte Tour Development’s Jeju Dream Tower, welcomed an average of around 300 visitors per day during the first three weeks of operations, according to local media reports.
South Korea news outlet News 1 Korea reported Monday that Dream Tower Casino had achieved casino sales of more than KRW5 billion (US$4.4 million) between its opening on 11 June until Sunday 4 July, with visitation comprised almost exclusively from foreigners living in Jeju.
“It is not comparable to the level before Corona, but it was promoted in a situation where there were virtually no foreign tourists due to the suspension of visa-free entry,” a Lotte Tour official is quoted as saying.
The report says Lotte Tour is also looking to hire an additional 200 casino employees before the end of July.
As previously reported by Inside Asian Gaming, Dream Tower Casino has only been open for two weeks before a player won a KRW204 million (US$180,000) jackpot while playing Scientific Games’ Duo Fu Duo Cai link on 22 June.
Relocated from its previous location at Lotte Hotel Jeju to Lotte Tour Development’s new US$1.4 billion IR, Dream Tower Casino covers more than 5,000 square meters and offers 141 gaming tables, 190 slot machines and 71 electronic table games.
