Osaka Prefecture and city have announced they will hold the “Know, Understand, Think, Integrated Resort (IR) Seminar” at the Mainichi Intesio on 30 July 2021.
The same seminar has been held continuously since 2017, aiming to help residents understand and think about an IR with respect to the efforts of Osaka prefecture and city for an IR bid at Yumeshima.
Only one group is participating in Osaka’s operator recruitment for an integrated resort, US casino giant MGM Resorts International and its local partner ORIX, with the city scheduled to confirm its operator in September. The national government plans to accept applications for IR projects from local governments between October 2021 to April 2022.
In addition to explaining the “Osaka IR Basic Concept” by officials at the seminar, Kazuo Takahashi, a professor of the Faculty of Business Administration at Kinki University, will take the stage to speak on “The Post-corona Value of an IR”. He plans to discuss regional revitalization and economic promotion, the importance of an IR for attracting tourism and the improvements to Osaka, including an IR. There will also be a time for questions and answers.
The event will run from 14:30 to 16:30 on Friday 30 July.
