Lotte Tour Development will launch its new foreigner-only casino at Jeju Dream Tower this Friday 11 June.

According to local media reports, all inspections of the company’s gaming equipment has now been completed and notice given of a change of name from LT Casino to its new identity, Dream Tower Casino.

Lotte Tour has spent the past two months relocating the casino from its former home at Lotte Hotel Jeju to the US$1.4 billion Jeju Dream Tower, opened in December last year.

The new location will expand the company’s current gaming space by almost five times to more than 5,000 square meters and see its five gaming tables and 51 machines rise to 150 tables and 300 machines. It will become the third largest of South Korea’s 16 foreigner-only casinos by floor space, behind only Paradise City in Incheon and Landing Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World.

Lotte Tour’s Chief Operating Officer Lawrence Teo told local media, “Even though the arrival of foreign tourists is limited, casino sales are generating about KRW30 billion to KRW40 billion (US$27 million to US$36 million) a month, mainly from foreigners living in Korea.

“We are flooded with inquiries from visitors who want to enjoy a new level of upgraded casino experience in Jeju.”

The tallest building in Jeju at 38 floors or 169 meters high, Jeju Dream Tower already features a retail mall, 14 restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck, top floor skydeck with lounge, two spas and a hotel.
