MGM Resorts has been granted permission by the Nevada Gaming Control Board to return to 100% capacity on the gaming floors of its Las Vegas resorts.
The waiver of previous COVID-19 restrictions allows for full occupancy and no social distancing on casino floors, although it does not apply to other resort areas such as restaurants and pools.
According to MGM, the waiver was granted on account of the company’s work to vaccinate its workforce, including the presence of an onsite vaccination clinic for employees located inside the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, a vaccine incentive campaign which offers the chance for vaccinated employees to win prizes, and a vaccination education campaign designed to emphasize the importance of vaccination to the community’s health and economic recovery
The removal of the previous 80% capacity limit and three-foot social distancing rule applies to nine MGM-operated Las Vegas Strip resorts: Bellagio Resort & Casino, ARIA Resort & Casino, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Park MGM, The Mirage Hotel & Casino, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel and Casino, and Excalibur Hotel & Casino.
