An average of 37,000 visitors arrived in Macau during the five-day Golden Week period from 30 April to 4 May – an increase of 40% over April’s average of 26,000 according to latest figures from the Public Security Force (CPSP).
The update follows the news earlier this week that Macau had welcomed around 45,000 visitors on Saturday 1 May – the highest single day tally since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and eclipsing the previous record of 34,729set on 17 April.
Total visitor arrivals for the five days to 4 May stood at around 186,000.
Macau’s visitor arrivals have been gradually rising since March as restrictions between Macau and mainland China ease and Chinese residents become more comfortable with travelling again.
