Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM) hosted a “Two Sessions Spirit Sharing Session” on 13 April at Grand Lisboa as part of its national educational series, with more than 1,000 employees taking part.

The event followed the recent conclusion of the 4th session of the 13th National People’s Conference (NPC) and the 4th session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also known as the “Two Sessions”, held in Beijing last month.

The sharing session was under the guidance of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, and attended by its Director-General Mr Chen Guo Kai. It was also supported by the Macao Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) and the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

SJM’s Chairman Daisy Ho, Directors Timothy Fok, Dr Ambrose So, David Shum and Maisy Ho joined the sharing session via live-broadcast at SJM Holdings’ Hong Kong office, while SJM Managing Director Angela Leong, Director Arnaldo Ho and Secretary-General Dr Rui Cunha attended the session in person.

“This year’s Two Sessions are of significant importance as 2021 marks the beginning of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and a new journey for our nation in realizing its Second Centenary Goal,” said Daisy Ho.

“It is encouraging to note from the Plan the tremendous support of the Central Government to Macau. As a locally rooted company, SJM is committed to upholding the spirit of loving the Motherland and Macau. We are the first gaming operator in Macau to promote national education, and will continue to play a vanguard role in promoting patriotism, cementing the principle of ‘patriots governing Macau’ and firmly advancing the cause of ‘One Country, Two Systems’.”
