Sports data intelligence agency Sportradar has signed a new multi-year deal with China’s professional basketball league which will see games broadcast to multiple territories outside of greater China.

Starting with the current 2020/21 season, Sportradar will distribute CBA League regular season games, postseason games and the All-Star game to broadcasters, streaming and OTT platforms outside of greater China, allowing fans to access full game coverage and short-form video content throughout the season.

“Chinese Basketball has been a traditional powerhouse in the international arena, and we are excited to be a part of expanding the reach of the top tier CBA to markets across the globe,” said Head of Global Strategic Partnerships for Sportradar, Steve Byrd. “Our data-driven approach and experience are what sets us apart in delivering the goal that leagues such as the CBA want, and we are excited to be partnering with them to deliver that.”

Sportradar’s latest CBA partnership follows similar media rights and broadcast deals with Korea’s K League and the NBL in Australia.

The deal will see Sportradar work to develop a comprehensive commercial strategy to enhance worldwide distribution for the CBA’s media rights.
