Dream Cruises announced this week that it had welcomed the 100,000th cruise passenger to the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore since relaunching cruise operations from the Singapore bases in November.
As previously reported by IAG, Genting Cruise Lines launched its first “cruise to nowhere” sailing from Singapore on 6 November, with World Dream – part of the Dream Cruises brand – becoming just the second cruise ship to return to the waters since the start of the pandemic following the start of a similar scheme out of Taiwan in July.
World Dream’s maiden Singapore voyage comprised around 1,400 passengers due to capacity being limited to 50% and stringent hygiene practices being employed on board.
Fast forward four months and the ship welcomed its 100,000 passenger on 12 March.
“Having pioneered the safe pilot cruises in Singapore, we are excited to be part of this important milestone to celebrate Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore’s 100,000th cruise passenger since the program started,” said Dream Cruises President Michael Goh.
